Marantec garage door remote replacement: identify yours
Marantec remotes come on more than one frequency, and some are fixed code while others are rolling code. Two remotes that look the same can be different inside, so the label matters here.
Which Marantec remote do you have?
The ones you’re most likely to find:
- Digital remotes on 868 MHz, such as the Digital 302, 304, 313, 382 and 384. The 868 MHz versions use a fixed code.
- 433 MHz versions also exist. They won’t work with an 868 MHz motor, or the other way round.
- Rolling-code remotes. Marantec makes these too, so don’t assume yours is fixed code until we’ve seen it.
Marantec motors, such as the Comfort range, work with whichever remote system they were sold with, so the label on the motor or the back of the remote tells us more than the motor name.

No clear label? What to photograph
These usually settle it:
- The back of the remote. The model and frequency are usually printed there.
- Inside the battery cover. If there’s a row of tiny switches, photograph them clearly.
- The motor label on the unit on the ceiling.
