About the LiftMaster TX2EV

The TX2EV is the two-button sibling of the TX4EV, a slim fob with buttons hidden under a sliding cover and a blue light. It works with the LM60EV, LM80EV, LM100EV, LM50 and their S versions, plus the 860EV and STAR1000EV receivers. Its Chamberlain-branded equivalent is the TX2REV.

What it looks like: A slim black and silver fob with two buttons under a sliding cover, a blue light and a keyring loop.

Don’t mix it up: Despite looking similar, it isn’t compatible with the TX4RUNI or TX4UNIS, which run on a different frequency.

How it’s set up

This is a rolling-code remote: its signal changes every time you press it, so a universal copying remote won’t work. It has to be paired with your system, either at the motor or receiver, usually with a learn or program button, or from a remote that already works. It normally takes a couple of minutes.
