About the Hörmann HS 4 BS

The HS 4 BS is a slim four-button Hörmann handset that works with any BiSecur-compatible operator, and it can also switch to a fixed-code mode to run older 868 MHz Hörmann operators from 2005 to 2012. Garador sells the same handset under its own branding rather than the Hörmann name, so the two are the same remote.

What it looks like: A slim black handset with a textured finish, four buttons in a cross pattern, a light at the top, chrome end caps and no keyring loop.

Don’t mix it up: It shares its body with the HS 5 BS, which has an extra small button for checking the door’s position, so the absence of that fifth button is how to tell this one apart.

How it’s set up

This is a rolling-code remote: its signal changes every time you press it, so a universal copying remote won’t work. It has to be paired with your system, either at the motor or receiver, usually with a learn or program button, or from a remote that already works. It normally takes a couple of minutes.
