About the Hörmann HS 5 BS

The HS 5 BS is a slim Hörmann handset with a small fifth button that shows whether the door is open or closed, using a green, red or orange light, though this only works on bidirectional BiSecur or Series 3/4 receivers. It also suits Series 3 SupraMatic and ProMatic operators, RollMatic doors and the RotaMatic, VersaMatic and LineaMatic gate range, and can run in fixed-code mode on older 868 MHz operators from 2005 to 2012.

What it looks like: This slim handset has five buttons, four in a clover pattern plus a small round button above them, a multicolour light, and no keyring loop; comes in black or white.

Don’t mix it up: It has the same body as the HS 4 BS and HS 1 BS, but those don’t have the fifth query button, so look for that small extra button to tell them apart.

This is a rolling-code remote: its signal changes every time you press it, so a universal copying remote won’t work. It has to be paired with your system, either at the motor or receiver, usually with a learn or program button, or from a remote that already works. It normally takes a couple of minutes.
