About the Hörmann HSM 4 (868 MHz)

The HSM 4 is a compact mini handset from Hörmann’s 868 MHz fixed-code generation, made between 2005 and mid-2012, with four light blue buttons. It works with Series 2 SupraMatic and ProMatic operators, older RotaMatic and LineaMatic gates before July 2012, and Garador’s GaraMatic and Hörmann-based operators from 2005 to 2011. It won’t pair directly with newer BiSecur receivers, though a BiSecur handset can be switched into fixed-code mode to replace it.

Is this your remote?

Look on the label or the back of the remote for:

HSM4-868HSM4868 MHz

What it looks like: This compact mini handset is dark grey with four light blue buttons and a red light.

Don’t mix it up: It shares the same body as the HSM 4 40 MHz, HSM 4 26.975 MHz and HSM 4 433 MHz versions, so check the button colour, since this one has light blue buttons rather than grey, green or orange.

Also sold as: HSM4-868, HSM 4 868, HSM4, 4-button mini hand transmitter, Hörmann article 437442, device type S/M4.

What it works with

  • SupraMatic E/P Series 2
  • ProMatic Series 2 / ProMatic Akku
  • RotaMatic / LineaMatic gate operators before July 2012
  • HE 1 / HE 2 / HE 3 and HER / HET 24 fixed-code receivers
  • Garador GaraMatic / Hörmann-based Garador operators 2005-2011

How it’s set up

This is a fixed-code remote: it sends the same signal every time, so you set it to match the code your door already uses, either by copying it from your current remote or by setting the same code inside it. Rolling code vs fixed code explains the difference.

We email simple steps for your system with every order, and if it won’t pair, email us and we’ll walk you through it.
