Which JCM remote do you have?

The ones you’re most likely to find:

• GO and GO-PRO are JCM’s current remotes, sold as small dark fobs in two and four button versions plus a compact Mini size. GO-PRO adds programmable features but looks the same as the standard GO.
• MUV and MUV-PRO are metal-cased remotes sold alongside the GO range, on the same coding system, including versions sold specifically as Birkdale garage door remote replacements.

All of these use a rolling code, so a universal copying remote will not work.

Remotes that look almost identical, such as GO2 and GO-PRO 2, use different coding and are told apart by the serial number printed on the back.

No clear label? What to photograph

These usually settle it:

• Your handset, front and back, so we can see its button count, case and the serial number printed on the back.
• The receiver or control panel on the wall near the door, plus any label on it.
