Novoferm garage door remote replacement: identify yours

Novoferm is a German garage door and operator maker sold across the UK. Its Novotron remotes pair with its own Novomatic and NovoPort operators, and the same remotes are also sold under Novoferm's sister brands, Tormatic and Siebau.

Which Novoferm remote do you have?

The ones you’re most likely to find:

  • Mini-Novotron 522 and 524 are Novoferm’s current two and four-button remotes, used with the Novomatic and NovoPort operators.
  • Mini-Novotron 523 Protect is a similar remote with a small light that shows whether the door is open or shut, supplied with the NovoPort Speed operator.
  • Novotron 502 and 504 are Novoferm’s two and four-button remotes supplied with operators from 2008 onwards.
  • Novotron 302 and 304 are older, boxier two and four-button remotes, now replaced, also sold under the Tormatic name.

Novoferm’s receivers can be set up to accept several different code types, so an older-looking remote may still work with a newer operator.

Genuine Novoferm remotes are also sold as Tormatic and Siebau parts. These are the same product under a different brand name.

No clear label? What to photograph

These usually settle it:

  • Your handset, front and back, so we can see its shape, colour and any printed model number.
  • The operator on your garage ceiling or wall, plus its label.
  • Inside the battery compartment of the remote, where the model name is usually printed.

What to photograph shows what a useful photo looks like.
