Which Ansa remote do you have?

The ones you're most likely to find:

• TEC-2 and TEC-4 are Ansa's current handsets, with two or four buttons and chrome edged trim, running 433.92 MHz Keeloq rolling code and working with any standard Ansa control panel.
• Deco-2 and Deco-4, also sold as Deco TX2 and Deco TX4, came before the TEC range, with two or four grey buttons, and were themselves the replacement for the older Metallo, ATX-1 and ATX-2 handsets.
• Metallo, ATX-1 and ATX-2 are earlier Ansa handsets, now discontinued and superseded by the Deco and TEC ranges.
• Henderson coded handsets, such as the Metallo Henderson and Goofy Henderson, look similar to the standard range but only work with an Ansa control box built for Henderson coding, identified by an H marked inside the box.

Opening the control box on the wall and checking for an H marking is the most reliable way to tell a Henderson coded system from a standard one.

Ansa's rolling code handsets are not interchangeable with the Henderson coded range, or with generic universal cloning remotes, even when they look alike.

No clear label? What to photograph

These usually settle it:

• Your handset, front and back, so we can see its colour, buttons and any printed text.
• The control box on the wall, with its cover on and, if possible, off, so we can check for an H marking.
