Teckentrup garage door remote replacement: identify yours
Teckentrup is a German garage door maker sold in the UK under the CarTeck name. Its current operators use Pearl remotes made by Sommer, while older Teckentrup and CarTeck doors used the brand’s own SH-series remotes, which are not interchangeable with Pearl.
Which Teckentrup or CarTeck remote do you have?
The ones you’re most likely to find:
- Pearl and Pearl Twin are the four and two-button remotes supplied with the current CarTeck Drive operator.
- Pearl Vibe is a four-button remote that vibrates to confirm the door has responded, for CarTeck Drive and Drive Pro operators.
- SH4-D is a four-button remote for older Teckentrup and CarTeck operators numbered 12.1 to 40.2.
- SH2-D is an older two-button remote for a narrower range of the same operators, since replaced by the SH4-D.
The Pearl range and the older SH range use different radio systems and are not interchangeable, so the name printed on the remote is the fastest way to tell them apart.
The current Pearl remotes use a changing code each time they are pressed, so a universal copying remote will not work with them.
