About the GfA VR/TF2E

The VR/TF2E is GfA Elektromaten’s current two button hand transmitter, running on 433.92 MHz rolling code. It pairs with a GfA TS 971 door control, which has a receiver built in, or a TS 970 control fitted with a separate GfA receiver. It replaced the older fixed code SKX handset range in current GfA UK stock.

Is this your remote?

Look on the label or the back of the remote for:

What it looks like: A white and blue plastic fob with two buttons.

Don’t mix it up: Look alike GfA fobs from the older SKX range use a completely different fixed code system, so they are not interchangeable even though the shape is similar.

How it’s set up

This is a rolling-code remote: its signal changes every time you press it, so a universal copying remote won’t work. It has to be paired with your system, either at the motor or receiver, usually with a learn or program button, or from a remote that already works. It normally takes a couple of minutes. Seen it cheaper somewhere else?

Check it’s the genuine GfA remote. Many cheaper listings are copies or “compatible” remotes, not the manufacturer’s own. A genuine GfA remote has the GfA name on it, usually on the front or on the label on the back, along with the model name. Copies often leave the name off, and some won’t pair with a rolling-code system at all. A universal remote that works by copying can’t copy a rolling code.
