Neco garage door remote replacement: identify yours

NECO is a range of roller shutter and garage door motors and remote controls, supplied in the UK by Britalia Door Products of South Wales. Its handsets look alike but use different coding, so which one you need depends on the control box fitted to your door.

Which NECO remote do you have?

The ones you’re most likely to find:

  • TR4 is the grey rolling code handset, a small four-button fob with a silver face plate and a sliding cover over the buttons. It works with the MK1, Euro and Garage Remote boxes.
  • TX4 is the black fixed code handset of the same size, listed by retailers for early MK1 boxes.
  • Eco handsets also have a black sliding cover, and belong to the Eco and Eco Mini boxes, which only work with their own handsets.
  • Control 4 handsets have buttons marked A, B, C and D and suit the older Control 4 wall box, which is no longer sold.

Retailers warn that these handsets do not swap with each other, so match yours to the box.

The colour of the sliding cover and the markings on the buttons are the quickest clues.

No clear label? What to photograph

These usually settle it:

  • Your handset, front and back, so we can see its case colour, buttons and sliding cover.
  • The receiver box on the wall or ceiling near the door, with its cover off if you can, so we can see the label and the learning button.

What to photograph shows what a useful photo looks like.
