How to teach a Hörmann RSC 2 handset to a Liftronic operator

For: Hörmann Liftronic 500, 700 or 800 operator (EcoStar range)

Before you start

• The RSC 2 takes a 3 V CR2025 battery.
• Have the door at rest with nobody in its way.
• Stand at least 1 metre from the receiver. In a garage with no separate door, do this from inside.

Teach a button

1. Press the small P button on the operator’s cover briefly. The red LED starts to flash: the operator is ready to learn.
2. Press the handset button you want and hold it until the red LED flashes quickly. Release it.
3. Within 15 seconds, press the same handset button again and hold it until the LED flashes very quickly. Release it.
4. When the very fast flashing stops, the button is taught and the red LED stays lit. Test it.

• The operator’s memory holds 6 handset buttons. A seventh one deletes the first without warning.
• The second button can work a second operator or an outside light if a second receiver is fitted.

Good to know

• Hörmann’s older EcoStar and EcoStar Plus manuals give the same idea, but they don’t name the handset.

Deleting remotes

• To delete every handset from the operator: hold P. The red LED flashes slowly and then faster. Release, and the memory is empty with the LED lit. Releasing within 4 seconds on a Liftronic 700 or 800 cancels it. You can only delete all handsets, not one.
