How to pair a Hörmann HSE 4 BS remote with a ProMatic 4 opener

For: Hörmann ProMatic 4 (integrated BiSecur receiver)

Before you start

• The door must be stopped.
• The opener’s pre-warning light phase and hold-open phase must not be running.
• The remote needs its battery in: one 3 V CR2032. Remove the insulation strip if there is one.

Pair a button

1. Press the P button on the opener cover once. The LED in the transparent button flashes red once.
2. Press and hold the button on the new remote that you want to use. The remote’s LED lights blue for 2 seconds and goes out. After about 5 seconds it flashes red and blue alternately. Keep holding it.
3. When the opener recognises the remote, the LED in its transparent button flashes quickly in red. Release the remote’s button.
4. The opener’s LED then flashes slowly in red. That button is now paired. Try it.

• To pair another button, repeat steps 2 and 3.
• To stop pairing, press P eight times. If you do nothing, it stops by itself after 25 seconds.

Choose what the button does

How many times you press P in step 1 decides the function:

• 1 press: open, stop, close (the usual choice)
• 2 presses: light
• 3 presses: partial opening
• 4 presses: open only
• 5 presses: close only
• 6 presses: ventilation
• 7 presses: all functions

Good to know

• The opener remembers up to 100 remote codes. If it is full, the oldest are dropped.
• If a button’s code was copied from another remote, hold that button until the LED flashes red and blue before it works.
• The remote’s LED flashing red twice means its battery is running low.

Deleting remotes

• To delete every remote from the opener, press and hold P on the cover until its LED flashes slowly and then rapidly in red, then let go. You can’t delete a single button on this opener.
