How to pair a LiftMaster TX4EVF remote with the yellow learn button

These steps are from Chamberlain’s own manuals for openers with a yellow round button. Other LiftMaster and Chamberlain openers use different buttons, so if yours has none, follow your opener’s manual or email us.

For: LiftMaster LM60EVFA, LM80EVFA, LM100EVFA and LM130EVFA, and Chamberlain ML700EV / ML1000EV

Before you start

  • You are at the opener, with the new remote in your hand.

Pair the remote

  1. Press and release the yellow round button on the opener. The learn light stays on for 30 seconds.
  2. Within those 30 seconds, press and hold the button on the new remote that you want to open the door with.
  3. Let go when the opener’s light blinks once. That means the code is learned. If you let go before it blinks, it hasn’t learned it.
  • Repeat for each button or remote.

Good to know

  • The manuals say a remote that only looks similar, and isn’t the maker’s own, isn’t compatible.
  • When the opener’s memory is full, the oldest remote codes are overwritten.

Deleting remotes

  • To erase every remote, hold the yellow round button until the learn light goes out (about 10 seconds), then pair again the ones you still want. You can’t delete a single remote.
