We set no cookies of our own. Nothing is stored for analytics unless you say yes, and you can change your mind at any time.
The short version
Our website sets no cookies of its own, for anything. If you choose “No thanks” when we ask, or simply ignore the question, nothing is stored on your device except a note of that choice, and nothing about your visit reaches anyone else.
What a cookie is
A cookie is a small file a website asks your browser to keep, so it can recognise the same browser again later. Some other ways of storing things in a browser work much the same way, and the rules treat them the same. We’ve listed everything we use below, cookie or not.
The one thing we store without asking
When you answer our cookie question, we keep your answer in your browser under the name wr-analytics-consent, holding just the word “yes” or “no”. It isn’t a cookie and it’s never sent to our server. It stays in your browser until you clear your browsing data.
We don’t ask permission for that one, because it exists only to remember what you told us. Without it we’d have to ask you the same question on every page.
Cookies set only if you say yes
These are set by Google Analytics, not by us, and only after you choose “Yes, that’s fine”. Nothing on this list exists in your browser until you do.

We use these to count visits and see which pages help people and which don’t — for example how often a photo finds a match. We don’t use them for advertising, and we don’t sell what they record.
When you pay
Paying takes you to Stripe’s own checkout page. Stripe sets the cookies it needs there to take the payment securely and spot fraud. Those are Stripe’s cookies on Stripe’s page, not ours, and they’re covered by Stripe’s privacy policy. We never see your card details.
What we don’t do
- No advertising or marketing cookies, and no ad networks.
- No social media tracking buttons.
- We don’t sell or share what any of this records.
- No cookie walls: saying no costs you nothing, and the site works exactly the same.
Things that work without cookies
Two parts of the site need mentioning, because they involve your information even though neither uses a cookie.
When you use the photo tool, the picture is read on your own device and stays there. Only the text it reads, such as a model number, is sent to us to find a match, unless you press Send.
And like every website, our host keeps a technical record of requests, which can include your IP address, for a few days. That’s how we check the site is working and isn’t being abused. It isn’t a cookie, we don’t use it to build a picture of you, and it doesn’t depend on your answer to the cookie question. There’s more in our privacy policy.
Changing your mind
Use the button above at any time. Choosing “No thanks” stops anything further being loaded straight away, though any cookie already set stays until it expires or you clear it.
You can also delete cookies and block them in your browser’s settings, under Privacy in Chrome, Safari, Firefox or Edge. Blocking everything may stop other websites working properly, but it won’t affect this one.
