How to add a Nice FLO-R or Era Flor remote to your receiver

Nice’s leaflets say these remotes are paired at the receiver or control unit, so pick the section for yours. If you are not sure which you have, email us your motor model.

For: Nice SMXI, SMX2R, FLOX-R and OXI / OX2 receivers

Before you start

  • Press a button on the remote and check its LED lights. If it is dim or slow, change the battery first (12 V 23A for the FLO-R-S, one 3 V CR2032 for the FLO1RE, FLO2RE and FLO4RE).
  • Nice’s SMXIS and SMX2 receivers are for its Smilo remotes (SM2 and SM4), so they don’t take these.

SMXI or SMX2R receiver

  1. Press and hold the receiver’s button for at least 3 seconds, and let go when the receiver’s LED lights.
  2. Within 10 seconds, press any button on the new remote and hold it for at least 2 seconds.
  3. The receiver’s LED flashes 3 times: the remote is memorised. To add another remote, repeat step 2 within 10 seconds.
  • Each button then does the receiver’s own function 1 to 4. The receiver holds up to 256 remotes. Its memorising phase takes in any compatible remote in range, so do it when no neighbour is using theirs.

FLOX-R receivers (FLOX1R, FLOX2R, FLOXI2R and similar)

  1. Press and release P1 on the receiver. The LED L1 lights for 5 seconds.
  2. During those 5 seconds, press a button on the remote and hold it until L1 goes out.
  3. Let go, wait 1 second, then press and hold any button on the remote again until L1 flashes three times. If it doesn’t, start again.

OXI, OXIT and OX2 receivers (used with SPIN kits)

  1. Press and hold the receiver’s key until the green LED lights, then let go.
  2. Within 10 seconds, press and hold any button on the remote until the LED gives its first of 3 green flashes.
  • The first remote you put into an OXI decides which type of remote it will accept from then on. To change that you have to delete everything first.

Copy from a remote that already works

Nice’s "in the vicinity" method: two remotes close together, within range of the receiver, without touching the receiver.

  1. On the NEW remote, press and hold a button for at least 5 seconds, then let go.
  2. On the OLD (already memorised) remote, press a button slowly 3 times.
  3. On the NEW remote, press the same button once slowly, then let go.
  • The new remote takes on how the old one was memorised. Repeat for each new remote.
  • Only power the one receiver you are working on, so nothing else pairs.

Good to know

  • Which section applies depends on your receiver, which is why we ask for your motor model at checkout.

Deleting remotes

  • SMXI or SMX2R, all remotes: hold the receiver’s button, wait for the LED to light, go out, then flash 3 times, and let go exactly on the third flash. About 5 flashes follow to confirm. You can’t delete a single remote on these two.
  • Other receivers have their own delete steps in their manuals.

Not covered on this page

The INTI2, ON, MYGO and ECCO remotes, and Nice control units with the receiver built in (for example SPIN with an SMXI, or SPY), aren’t covered on this page yet.
