How to add a LiftMaster TX2EV or TX4EV remote

For: LiftMaster LM60EV, LM80EV, LM100EV and the later EV openers, which have a yellow round learn button

Before you start

• Find the yellow round button on the opener head.
• If your opener has an S button with a light marked LED1 rather than a yellow round one, it is the older type and these steps don’t apply.

Add the remote

1. Press and release the yellow round learn button on the opener. The learn light glows steadily for 30 seconds.
2. Within those 30 seconds, press and hold the button on the remote you want to use.
3. Release it when the opener light blinks. The code is stored.

Good to know

• If a new remote does nothing but the wall button still works, check lock mode: a flashing wall control button means the opener is ignoring all remotes. Hold the panel’s Lock button for 2 seconds.
• If no bulb is fitted to the opener you will hear two clicks rather than seeing a flash.

Deleting remotes

• Hold the yellow round button until the light goes out, about 10 seconds. Note that this is longer than the 6 seconds used on the orange and green button openers. Every remote is erased and has to be added again.
