How to copy the code from your old Hörmann BiSecur remote onto a new one
Hörmann’s leaflets for these remotes describe copying a button’s code from an old remote onto a new one. Nothing has to be changed at the opener.
For: Any Hörmann BiSecur opener or receiver that already works with your old BiSecur remote
Before you start
- You need the old, working remote and the new one. Below, the new remote is A and the old one is B.
- The copy has to be finished within 15 seconds, so read the steps first.
- The leaflets don’t say whether you can copy between different remote models (for example from an HS 5 BS to an HSE 4 BS), so use the same model if you can.
- If your new remote is an HSP 4 BS, its sliding lock switch must be in the ON position while you do this.
Copy a button
- Hold the new remote (A) to the left of the old remote (B), touching or within about 2 cm.
- Press and hold the button on the old remote (B) whose code you want to copy. Its LED lights blue for 2 seconds and goes out. After about 5 seconds it flashes red and blue alternately: it is now sending the code.
- Press and hold the button on the new remote (A) that should get the code. Its LED lights blue for 2 seconds and goes out, then flashes slowly in blue. When it recognises the code it flashes quickly in blue, and about 2 seconds later it goes out.
- Let go of both buttons. That button on the new remote now carries the old button’s code.
- Do the same again for each button you want to copy.
- If it doesn’t work, try again. You have 15 seconds each time.
Good to know
- The first time you use a copied button, your opener’s manual says whether to hold the button until the LED flashes red and blue, or to press it a second time.
- Batteries: HSE 1, HSE 2 and HSE 4 take a CR2032. HS 1, HS 4 and HS 5 take one AAA 1.5 V. HSD 2 and HSP 4 take a CR2025. HSZ 1 and HSZ 2 take a CR2.
- If a remote’s LED flashes red twice when you press a button, its battery is running low.
